His parents moved from there to Iowa and in 1901 they moved to Mooreland, OK where they lived out their remaining days. Mr. Croisant was united in marriage to Laura Peaney in February 1913, and to this union seven children were born: Chester of Ripon, CA, Clementine McCoy of Kansas, Cecil (deceased), Lyle, of Novato, CA, Billy, Kansas, Fred, Medina, TN, Gene (deceased). The mother of these children passed away in March 1931; and Mr. Croisant was united in marriage to Lura Cline the 11 day of January 1938. There are on children, but four step-children: Robert Hollen, Miltonvale, KS; Ruie Nielson, CA; Roy Hollen, CA; Rhea May Sayer, CA. There are 21 grand children and step-grand children, all of them very dear to him. There are five brothers and two sisters !LIVING. Mr. Croisant was akind and loving husband and father and a good neighbor. He was so patient thru all his 3 1/2 years of illness. He was converted in October 1949 and lived a christian life his remaining days. Bro. Black, the Baptist minister conducted the funeral services and Mr. Croisant was laid to rest in Park Lawn Cemetery, Bell Gardens ,CA. Pallbearers were: Roland d. Elwood, Lawrence Nielson, William E. Flew a Piper Cub for recon in WW II. On Feb 3, 1945, was forced to land on a street in Manila when his fuel line was severed by ground fire shortly before the liberation by McArthur's forces. Taught school in Ohio briefly and then taught in several schools in California. His last place of residence was in Ventura, CA (1997). Obit: Charles Wayne Dugan passed away on October 9, 2016 at the age of 98. He was born in McConnelsville ,Ohio, the son of Meredith Dugan and Mabel Offord. He spent his childhood on the family farm. He graduated from Ohio University in Athens where he met his wife Martha. They married in 1942, and Wayne went off to serve in WWII. He served in the Army First Cavalry Division. In 1945 he was commended for meritorious achievement while participating in aerial flights at Luzon Island in the Philippines. He was also an artillery liaison pilot and did reconnaissance work for the cavalry column. After the war Wayne continued his education obtaining a Master's Degree from Ohio State University. He spent a long and fruitful career in education which began with a teaching position in Burbank, Ca. Later he moved his family north and was an administrator in Northern California. He and Martha settled in Ventura in 1962. He continued his administration career at Rio Del Villa and De Anza Middle School, retiring after 39 years in education. Wayne gave much of his time and talent to community service. He was an active member of First United Methodist Church. He and Martha spent many years serving meals to the homeless through the Family to Family Program. In 1991 Buenaventura Interfaith Volunteer Caregivers gave Wayne an award for his volunteer service to the community. He was also a longtime member of Sunrise Optimist Club. Wayne and Martha enjoyed many world travels with Elder Hostel. In later years they particularly enjoyed their time at the Ventura Townehouse. Wayne will be remembered, not only for his service as an educator and volunteer, but for his enjoyment of other people. He was always quick to make friends, he enjoyed singing in the church choir and playing the piano and he was a dedicated husband and father. Wayne is survived by sons, Dan (Judy), Bob (Glenda), both of Ventura and Craig of Phoenix, AZ; grandchildren , Meighan Zimmerman (John) and Joshua Dugan; great grandchildren Natasha, Trent and Chase Zimmerman. He was preceded in death by his wife Martha. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church/Endowment Scholarship, 1338 E. Santa Clara St., Ventura, CA 93001 or Student Scholarship funds sponsored by either the Sunrise Optimist Club, P.O. Box 3056, Ventura , CA 93006 or the Retired Teachers Association , VCRTASF Treasurer, P.O. Box 1766, Camarillo, CA 93011.
