Ellen is listed in the 1896 City Directory as (wid Richard) res 234 Lee st. In the same directory, son Charles is listed at 222 N. 4th st, son Louis F. at the home 234 Lee St., Julia V. (wid Albert) at 31 N. Third. Mary F O'Neill is also listed at 29 Elm St. It is believed that the C. in her middle name is Carney. Obit. Mar 21, 1905, Times Recorder: Mrs. Ellen C. Dugan, mother of Charles Dugan, of this city, died Sunday morning at her home in Newark at the age of 86 years. There are 6 other children besides Mr. Dugan. The funeral will be held at the St. Francis De Sales church in Newark Wednesday morning and the remains will be brought here for interment. Ellen is listed on the Interment record in Greenwood Cemetery, but the record does not show a section or plot number. We assume she was buried with her husband in Section 8. There is no marker there for her. An Anna Roberts took care of her burial arrangements. We are currently presuming this is a daughter of her sister, Margaret. Obituary in Newark, OH newspapers gives the following information: She was organist at the St. Francis DeSales church in Newark "40 years ago." However, in the census years, the Dugans were !LIVING in Zanesville. The history of St. Thomas Church says she played the organ there from 1831 when her father built it u 1842 when she married Richard and "moved away." Perhaps, she moved to Newark and the obit should have said 50 years. Also, they could have moved between Newark and Zanesville as employment varied. She was said to be the "last of a large family", which we assume to be the Faust family. There were two Fausts buried in the 1840's at St. Thomas cemetery. When she died at the age of 86, she was !LIVING at 84 N. Williams St. One obituary lists this as the home of her daughter Ella J. Still (Mrs. "Robert" Still). She died of "ailments of old age" or "pnuemonia", depending on which obituary you believe. Her 7 surviving children were listed. Only Albert H. had died by 1905. Louis' whereabouts were unknown, but the rest were accounted for.

Robert "Bob" Arthur Smith, 89, of McConnelsville left this world on June 12, 2020. Bob was born on the family farm, November 14, 1930. He married Beverly Jean Woods Smith in 1959, they were married for 60 years. Bob was South Eastern Ohio Champion Calf roper in his younger days. He spent his life as a dairy farmer on the family farm. Bob was the son of Harold Curtis and Daisy Marie Bankes Smith. He is survived by his children Kim Yvonne Smith, Curtis (Joyce) Smith, and Diana (Tony) Maxwell. His grandchildren Kelly (Anurag) Kulkarni, Dalton Smith, Sef Smith, and Rhys Smith. He is also survived by his sisters Wanda Thompson, Bea Harrison, and Kay Moellenkamp, and James Crowley who he considered family. Bob was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jean, brothers; Harold Junior Smith, Edward Smith and sister, Hope Richardson. A private graveside was held on Monday, June 15, 2020 with Keith Malone officiating. He was laid to rest beside his wife Jean in Lemon Hill Cemetery.

St. Thomas cemetery records in Zanesville listed her as Barbara Catherine Taylor. A record in the LDS FHC, which is the source of her parents' names, listed her as Barbara Caroline. This is the same as her granddaughter. The LDS information was ignored originally because there were errors and it was assumed the record was for a different person. Then, while viewing a video recording of St. Thomas Cem., it was noted that the name on the tombstone was indeed Barbara Caroline Taylor. Apparently, an error was made in the index at McIntire Library. She ran the Green Tree Tavern for 7 years after her husband's death. Then she married James Taylor, who built the Mound House in Duncan Falls for her. He owned the mill at Duncan Falls. He built the front part of the house. Philo Buckingham built the remainder in the 1850's after purchasing the house from the Taylors. According to some church historians, she was first buried underneath St. Thomas Church with her first husband, John S. Dugan. When the bodies were discovered during remodeling, her body was supposedly moved to the cemetery on the hill and buried with the marker John S. and their son, Lewis Henry Dugan. John is supposedly still buried underneath the church, with a small brass cross marking the location. The LDS record lists her as being born 14 Oct 1784 and dying 26 Nov 1867 in Herkimer Co, NY. Also shows Lewis H as Lewis N, being born in 1806. All this was supposed to have happened in Herkimer Co, where the couple supposedly moved after marriage.
